We are therefore always happy to receive any (noncommercial copyright) contributions. The Gallery is divided into three specialist sections:

A general collection of exterior photos of Hampton Safaris

A general collection of interior photos of Hampton Safaris

A collection of exterior photos of Hampton Safaris around Ely and Cambridge

As well as on the Norfolk Broads, large numbers of Hamptons are still in use at various waterways around the country. Our members have kindly sent in these photos that they took at Ely and Cambridge.

Stern Cut-out and Door - Barry Leech

Barry's very neat solution, utilising the cut-out section as a door.

Engine Ventilation - Bill Maxted

With the older BMC and Perkins engines the Safari's Achilles' heel was perhaps the amount of noise and sometimes fumes that entered the saloon.

Front and Rear Canopies (and 'windcheaters') - Bill Maxted

With wells fore & aft Mk111's can take a fair bit of water which drains into the bilge. We had these two canopies made up. I've also provided some photos of another owner's 'windcheaters' idea.)

Cooling Intake Modification - Paul Douglas

If you use your boat throughout the winter, or would like to make 'winterisation' easier, then with this simple mod you can fill your primary cooling circuit with antifreeze without undoing any clips or hoses....

Locking Deck Filler Caps - Paul Douglas

Sad perhaps, but many boat owners need to lock their deck filler caps. I took it a stage further than the hexagon key sockets with these hasp and staple locks.

Rear Pushpit and Seat - Paul Douglas

One of the (few!) drawbacks of a forward control boat is the lack of a rear cockpit. There is just enough room on a Hampton to rectify this.

Rubber Rubbing Strakes - Paul Douglas

My hardwood rubbing strakes were becoming laborious to maintain, so I changed to rubber D fenders in an afternoon, with minimal work.

Remote Mudweight Winch - Paul Douglas

A popular DIY fitment on many Broads based boats, I call mine the 'handbrake' and wouldn't be without it.

Under-Deck Bookcase/ Storage Locker - Paul Douglas

An empty void in most Safaris that can house a very large bookcase/locker.

Tankage and extra Locker Space - Paul Douglas

I rearranged my tanks and gained a very large locker for my inflatable dinghy.
